Tuesday, Jan 31, 2023 - I learned today about the idea of episodic memory, which is the memory of past experiences. But, it is also the part of the brain used when thinking about future experiences. We consider that today!
Monday, Jan 23, 2023 - A PT was a guest lecturer for the UVM Yoga Training Program, and said something I hadn't thought of before...that the physical yoga practice is about mobility, not flexibility. I love that, and we consider that in today's practice.
Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023 - Sometimes all kinds of thoughts can get in the mind, and it's good to take control of that. You can think of the idea of having a "bouncer of the mind." Someone is has hanging out at the entrance of the mind, deciding what thoughts come in and what thoughts stay out.
The word "routine" is a French word that means path. I love the idea that by having a routine we are creating a path for our lives. Completely changes the feeling of routine as something you have to do, but instead, something you have decided to do for you life path.
Thursday, Jan 5, 2023 - I was reminded today of the value of just showing up. Often times life is this slow and steady movement forward. Every once in a while there is something major, but the majority of time it's just showing up that makes the difference.
Wednesday, Jan 4, 2023 - One thing about practicing yoga most days, is you recognize that everyday you are a little bit different...some days you are A LOT different. Today we awaken to how we are today, and go from there.
Tuesday, Jan 3, 2023 - Today we work on make space in ourselves to allow for our best self to come to the surface. It's easy to hold onto old stuff, like an old tent that used to be great to now you've moved forward. We can collect "old tents" on our bodies as well.
