Jan. 22, 2021 - I was watching an interview by Anderson Cooper with Amanda Gorman. As I'm sure you know, Amanda is the woman who shared her poem, "The Hill We Climb", at Biden's Inauguration. In the interview she was talking a bit about herself and her life, and that the reason she got into reading poetry was because she has a speech impediment. Without a lot of practice, she has an inability to say the letter R. For her inauguration poem she needed to practice it over and over, so her mouth could get used to the Rs. So, basically, her inspiration for sharing words is her inability to say them. Isn't that amazing!
Her story makes me think about how this can often be the case in life. A hot shower is the best after not having one for a while. Warmth feels so good after you've been out in the cold. The feeling of sun on your face is so much more wonderful after a period of cloudy days. We forget what have until we don't have it any more.
We have so, so, so many things to be grateful for that we take for grated and forget about...like clean water, strawberries, breathing, a home. For today's class we will celebrate all we have in our lives...particularly the letter R.
Have a wonderful practice. :-)

Positive Communication with Yourself ...
Jan 18, 2021 - Today is Martin Luther King Day. I found this great quote about communication from him - "People fail to get along because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don't know each other; they don't know each other because they have not communicated with each other."...
