We Are Body, Mind and Emotions

Nov 30, 2021 - It's interesting to think about "what are we". Are we the body, are the mind, are we emotions?
I have some friends who say we are all mind. That makes sense to me. The mind is where stuff happens...if we can get on top of the mind, we're golden.
Then there are others who are all about how the body is what is holding the information about ourselves. Totally agree. It's amazing how when you do different yoga postures, you can feel a "release", not only physical, my mentally and emotionally.
Then there is the idea that, really, all we have to do is connect to our emotions and that's the answer. So many wonderful things, and not so wonderful, have come from connecting to emotions.
Maybe we are really all three, and don't need to decide. Maybe we full mind sometimes, and then emotions now and then, deeply in the body every once in a while. I think it's fun to open to our whole self. Why choose? Why not connect to it all!
That's one I love about the yoga practice, it does invite you to be open to it all, and, hopefully, by the end of a practice, you feel more connected to full self.

July 27, 2021 - Last night I watched the Olympics “Street Skateboard” competition for women. If you haven’t seen it, you should check it out. One of the great things about it was the age of the winners…the gold and silver medalists are both 13-year olds. So cool.
