I Am Here

July 6, 2021 - Last year around this time I was spending three weeks staying with my mom in Colorado Springs. I was her caregiver, I didn’t have a car or computer, didn’t watch TV, and was focused on being together with my mom. It was great. The main great part about it was spending the most one-on-one time I’ve even had with my mom, but another wonderful part of it was the experience of being extremely present.
I find the feeing of being present can be elusive when I’m at home. I have lots of “possible” projects I can do around the house, I have different forms of fun activities like motorcycling, bicycling, kayaking or taking a drive. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by it all and I can’t find the glorious feeling on being Here. All I really want is to be in the moment, like I was with my mom, but I can be hard to find that feeling.
So, as a little exercise you can try to find Here, you can repeat the phrase “I Am Here” for a few minutes to really bring yourself into the moment. It works! When I got up this morning the phrase came to mind and I started repeating it and I totally got the “I’m at mom’s house being focused doing stuff” feeling…it was great, and still is. Try it out. Let me know if works for you. :-)

Let Go

It really felt like SUMMER, and findi...

Be Who You Are
July 8, 2021 - I am someone who prefers to be happy, and then when I’m not I’m disappointed or judge myself for it. I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in this…I think everyone has a desire to be happy. Something I love about the yoga philosophy is that it teaches that it’s ok if you aren’t happy eve...
