May 7, 2021 - Jane and I started out doing yoga by practicing Ashtanga. Then we were talking about wanting to learn more about the philosophy of yoga during the yoga practice, and we found Copper Crane Yoga in Vergennes, Vermont, where Carolyn Conner was the owner and teacher. Carolyn's teaching is what ultimately led to me being a yoga teacher. :-)
Something that I remember from one of the first classes is Carolyn talking about how it was a cloudy day, but that didn't mean there wasn't still a blue sky behind the clouds, and how we are similar - we might be "cloudy" be that doesn't mean we don't have a blue sky behind our clouds. I found it so meaningful and profound...and, that was something like 15 years ago and I still remember it.
I'm thinking of it today, because it has been cloudy over the last couple weeks, but the sun is out today...and it's a reminder that the blue, sunny sky is always behind the clouds, inside and outside of ourselves.
Thanks for the reminder Carolyn. :-)
