April 27, 2021 - In the Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna (the warrior) is telling Krishna (God) that he doesn’t want to participate in a battle that is about to take this…thinking that has inaction will somehow have no consequences, but the act of war will have consequences. Krishna, in all his wisdom, says:
“If you think that merely being motionless is being action less, you are being a hypocrite and deluding yourself.”
Krishna was pointing out that when you choose not to do something, there are still results from the inaction, just like when you choose to do something, there are results from your actions. You just can’t get away from it. :-)
I think it’s a great lesson in terms of life choices we make, from our choices in saying our not saying something to someone, or in food choices, environmental choices, job choices…it’s endless. All inactions have consequences, just like all actions do.
In the yoga practice it’s the same. We are constantly making action/inaction choices that have results. Enjoy working on that in class today. :-)
