August 23, 2021 - Jane and I just got back from a two week motorcycle trip in Canada. In talking about the experience, a big take away was that it was uncomfortable. :-)
We were really, really hot…often.
We almost got hit by lightning.
We rode on scary dirt roads.
We rode on scary paved roads.
We had to walk long distances to get to our campsites.
The list goes on and on.
AND…it was wonderful!! There is something about how every day life experiences are more enhanced when camping and traveling, because with the discomfort, you more enjoy life. Food tastes better. The cool air of grocery stores feels better. A lumpy mattress in your tent feels like the most comfortable bed ever.
I looked it up online, and sure enough, there are tons of articles and studies on how we need discomfort to be more happy. It actually adds to our happiness. I guess that’s why Jane and I keep going on highly uncomfortably vacations…it feels good!
Enjoy class…and, don’t worry, it’s not that bad. :-)

Seeing and Being Seen
August 30, 2021 - Jane & I just finished teacher a 5-day intensive for the UVM Yoga Teacher Training. One of the things that I find so valuable in the training is the students having the experience of being seen, and practicing seeing each other. At the end of the training everyone walked ar...
