April 28, 2021 - I was thinking about approaching conversation and connection to others from the point of view of learning something from the interaction, rather than getting your point across. I grew in a family, maybe like most, where being right was the important thing, not necessarily being informed. So, it’s something I’m working on, and in our current misinformation/disinformation climate, it seems of great value.
I found this from the Bhagavad Gita in relation to this idea:
“Because this world is a learning ground, a place to discipline, train, and elevate all beings. If we decline to learn we cannot derive the benefits of the schooling.”
