2.23.2021 - I woke up this morning, at 3:11am, thinking of past dinners I’ve had with people, and how I’ve missed that so much. A year ago this week I was in the Dominican Republic leading a yoga retreat with a group of friends. We shared every meal together, of course. Sitting close together, laughing, sharing food from each others plates—even sharing drinks, if you can believe that. This was the first of many shared meals that came to mind. I thought of meals my wife and I have shared with new found friends while we kayaked in Newfoundland. Meals we had while touring on our motorcycles. Dinners that we shared with friends on various beaches along Lake Champlain. Dinners I had when I visited a friend in France while I was in my 20s. A wonderful dinner I had with friends on a point looking out over the ocean in the Virgin Islands. The joy of sitting around a campfire after dinner, or walking together on the beach. So many great dinners!
And, of course missing all that, and at the same time, being grateful that even though we can’t connect over a meal we are able to get together and connect over yoga. Feeling a sense of connection, community, laughter. Even though we aren’t sharing food and we in different locations, we still can experience some of the essence of a shared meal. For me that essence is a feeling of being totally fine with being myself, and enjoying the company of others who are doing the same.
I hope you are finding that, and I look forward to a meal with very soon…but in the meantime, I hope this will fill that gap, if only a little. :-)

A More Beautiful Question
March 24, 2021 - A friend of mine sent out a group email to some friends that said, “I decided to look online to find conspiracy theories on the COVID vaccine.” And, sure enough, he did…and now he wanted us all to know he won’t get vaccinated.
I am reading a book right now called, “A More Beaut...
