Feb. 19, 2021 - Part of a sutra I really like from the Radiance Sutras is, “the essence of all teachings is right here, open your eyes.” Isn’t that great! The part I really like is “essence.” The concept of essence is present often in yoga texts. The essence of something means that there are no impurities. So, what that makes me think, is the context of this sutra, is that each of use is great as we are, in your essence, we just need to practice reminding ourselves of that and open our eyes. And, if you and I are perfect, everyone else is perfect as well. We all just aren’t always our essential Self…but that doesn’t change that fact that we are great as we truly are.
