Noise

June 9, 2021 - I started listening to a new book called “Noise.” I’ve just started in on it, but so far so good - it’s really interesting. The general premise of the book is that we all experience “noise” in our lives that effects how we act. It might be the heat, how much exercise we’ve had, if we are hungry, how our favorite sports team did…there’s lots of things that can effect the way that we deal with life, and a lot of times we don’t even know it.
What the book is saying, so far, is that we all experience noise, and it’s helpful to know that is happening, and that we should do our best to try to minimize the noise we are experiencing. Pretty cool idea…and, of course, this is where yoga comes in! Yoga is a great way to reduce the noise that’s happening in life, and get to a place that is more pure and clear. As we go through postures it’s fun to think that we are in search of noise so we can let it go. Finding a thought here that we can release, a tension in the body there, a judgement we can let go of.
Enjoy our practice today with the intention of leaving it with a little more clarity and openness in the body, mind and heart.
