The 3rd chakra, "Manipura," means "lustrous gem."  This is all about will power and getting things moving. This chakra is creating heat (FIRE!) through movement. Manipura is about creating transformation.  And, as we all have most likely experienced, particularly in the beginning, it can be hard to get movement going in order to create transformation. As I talk about in the class, a great way to think about the 3rd chakra is like building a bonfire. No bonfire actually starts with the bonfire, it starts with a spark that creates a little flame. And then, slowly you add to it, keep it building and growing until you do end up with a bonfire. Once the fire is steady it's relatively easy to keep it going - it's the spark that is hard.
