Connecting to Our More Creative Self

Jan. 21, 2021 - Yesterday was Joe Biden's Inauguration...yay! There's a lot I'm happy about in this transition, but for me, right near or at the top is a return to the celebration and cultivation of creativity. I've missed having a reminder from the highest office that America is incredibly diverse, creative, forward thinking, colorful. The focus has been so much more on fear, money, power.
It's interesting to look at all of this through the lens of the chakra system. The first three chakras are considering the "survival" chakras. All about facing fear, being strong, security. And, we need those things, but these aren't an end in themselves. For me anyway, I want those things in order so I can laugh, be creative, celebrate, while not having to worry about paying the bills. Instead, or consciousness was stuck in a world were money was the end, as opposed to the means. What an empty reality.
When you get these first three chakras in order, that's when you move into love (4th chakra), truth (5th chakra), imagination (6th chakra), deep knowledge and spirituality (7th chakra). The inauguration and post-celebration was all the upper chakras. Sharing love, the truth of our connections, color and poetry, a bigger purpose. It was really, really beautiful. I feel like we have been set free as a country to move into these higher ways of being.
As my new favorite person, the 22-year-old Amanda Gorman put it, "The new dawn blooms as we free it, for there is always light if only we're brave enough to see it, if only we're brave enough to be it."
Have a wonderful, creative day, and I hope you enjoy the video. :-)

Jan. 22, 2021 - I was watching an interview by Anderson Cooper with Amanda Gorman. As I'm sure you know, Amanda is the woman who shared her poem, "The Hill We Climb", at Biden's Inauguration. In the interview she was talking a bit about herself and her life, and that the reason she got into readi...

Savoring Time...and Particularly Winter
Jan. 25, 2021 - I really don't like winter. I was born and raised in Wyoming, and then from there moved to Vermont; someplace just as wintery, but darker. I have spent lots of time in my life asking myself why?? Not why I don't like winter, but why I live in this cold place. Arrggg!
BUT, this ...

You Become the Company You Keep
Jan. 26, 2021 - There is lots of talk online and with friends these days about how people end up believing that white supremacy is a good idea, or storming the capital is patriotic, or believing any of the numerous wild conspiracy theories out there. Something that I like that I saw posted online...
