Dec. 27, 2021 - We watched a philosophy "Masterclass" last night from Cornel West. A general theme that he was talking about is being humble, and how philosophy, along with other means, can remind you that you aren't that important in the universal sense...so why not leave "a bit of love behind" wherever you go.
I find that feeling of being small whenever I experience seeing vast spaces. I love the feeling. And, with that, here is a sutra from the Radiance Sutras about that very thing...this is sutra #92.
-----
Position yourself safely
At the edge of a cliff or gorge.
Gaze into the abyss and see on depth.
Immediately
Doubts dissolve,
Dilemmas disappear.
Be steady as mind release itself
Into natural form.
----
For our class today we will connect to our senses of our surroundings as a way to remind ourself that there is a whole, big world out there.
